Ok, so we have the barbarian, I really hope they spice the barb up because they were the most dull things to play in D2. Barbs were nothing but little errand boys who needed to BO people, they weren't relevant unless they had amazing gear, which for the rare legit player is more than difficult and time consuming to acquire. Yadda ya, anyways, then the witch doctor, which sounds like a step in the right direction, sort of like a necro, maybe he's the necro replacement. Then there's 3 more classes, simple, suggest 3 or more new classes you'd want to see in the game, or just ideas for classes in general. For me, I liked sins and zons more than anything in D2, especially sins, which were my favorite class because you could really make a micro intensive sin if you wanted to and have a blast playing... or you could play like a f**. Zons, well, there was always something addicting about clones, freezing arrow, slow missiles, strafe and multi shot imo. Anyways, onwards and upwards.

1) assassin/ranger/shinobi or equivalent, a ranger could fuse assassin type abilities and zon tactics. A versatile class that uses unconventional methods, I think any class added should be able to be much more effective if microed well. Diablo 2 is a game where micro isn't a necessity, most classes are more than playable in the hands of a lobotomized chimp. Let's see some micro in these f***ing classes!Playing a MA/phoe strike/shadow discipline sin in hell is fun as s****.
2) A caster/mage that isn't an imbalanced whorebag. That's a tall order though, what's the remedy to AoE? The first answer is usually less damage, but I think higher mana costs, less mana regen buffers (like insight) and higher casting times are the answer. Guild wars did a great job of balancing offensive spell casters because anything they could cast instantly just wasn't that effective, it wasn't possible to kill a pack of monsters by casting one instant spell, to cast a big spell like meteor shower took a couple seconds of charging (in which they could be easily interupted by a mesmer or ranger in pvp, some monsters could interupt too). However D2 is a game about fighting large hoards, not tougher, smaller packs of enemies. So we'll see. Casters need draw backs though. No f***ing teleport either unless its got a cooldown. Too big of a disadvantage for other classes not to have it.
3) Summoner/transforming class. I thought the druids transformations were pretty interesting and I'd like to see more of it. Summons would be nice too, the problem with necromancers and druid summons were that they were boring. Aside from casting bone walls or curses here and there, it wasn't interesting, your autonomous yet clumsy flunkies did everything for you. Maybe if the summoner had to stay still and thus be vulnerable to channel a single summon which he/she took control of (that had its own neat set of abilities) it would be interesting. Or if he/she could enter the body of a fallen monster and resurrect them at low life, eventually able when a cooldown was reached to reenter his/her own corpse. Who reads this nerdy s**** I'm writing?

I think alot of the cliches are still going to be there. I hope to see more micro intensive options available though, usually versatile hybrid classes offer these up.

So you hope it wont be like D2 at awl ^_______^v

Anyways, they should make this game more like D2 and less like D2:LOD.

Back in original D2, sorcs could choose FCR or +skills.

Barb could use iceblink and a lance, or big armar + sward + shield

Zon could use a twitch, etc etc

I wont go on but basically in D2 classic you had to choose your gear and your char type. Each benefit came with punishments. In LOD, with Enigma, Anus charm, Torch, etc. All chars can max res, have teleport, and huge stats with no costs (note use of chain-talics). Since all the upper end gear was cookie cutter. In D2 you had godly rares, but really if you wanted to max out res you were losing out on dmg/armour/stats or something. If you wanted huge dmg with dex/str, your vita suffered. In LOD no such punishments exist since you can have massive stat gain off your already good gear. Thinks like enigma should've given you teleport, but negative stats. Anus charm and Torch should've had punishments to exp gain and damage rather than bonuses. Etc etc. Give us choices not cookie cutters.

Make the best items the randomized ones and less godly "uniques" that anyone and their mom can get.

Now that that's out of the way... I second MA PhoeStrike Asn as the most fun I've ever had while playing d2. Chain dropping meteors was 100x cooler than doing it as a sorc.

There's also far more pressing concerns than classes honestly. Even if you ignore all the horrible bugs of Hellgate, its biggest problem is that the random dungeons were horribly linear. D2 had precious few such places: Palace and Arcane Sanct, River of Flame, couple A3 dungeons (though everything else about A3 was so f***ing hellish...).

What is necessary is for the dungeons to truly feel different. By nightmare, the monster types were randomized for zones, on top of largely increased number of champions and increased randomness in named. It doesn't mean s**** if the classes are awesome if the environment is dull and linear.

I'm looking foward to the "random event" thing. There's potential in that, if they implement it correctly

I think as you increase in difficulty, the monsters should have even brighter, more radical colors!

I hope druids get to come back.  Or assassins.  My two favorite ones.

I just like traps and transformations, really.
