I scrapped 1.1 since that was supposed to take only a couple hours of work, and wrapped up the work I've done on DH2.  It doesn't have everything I wanted but it's playable and has some nice changes.

Changelist:  (typing this from memory)
Titan runspeed lowered 290->270
Skills default to WERF to avoid hotkey collisions.
Lag revive bug fixed
ToD gives gold from herokills
Homing Missile explodes on right click again
Mind Ravel has a skill icon

New Skills:
Mag
Surge
Astral
Rift
Bloodmoon
Void

I'm sure I'm missing some stuff from that list.  I didn't get around to stuff like stopping Vamp aura and Pulverize from going to ranged heros, but that's why it's a Beta. :p

I'll edit this post eventually with a customkey file so you can change the skills from WERF if you want.

Dunno but there might be something that causes game splits??

Any1 else have this problem??....happend twice today on diff hosts

STill cant  figure out what causes it or mb the host just sucks

Astral is pretty much a pointless skill as it sits now. Any hero that has any type of fast movespeed makes astral useless except for creeping.

Just say on naix if hes chasing a hero or just running....the astral sits in 1 spot then warps to him the starts attacking but if hes cahsing a hero the astral never catches up in time and just lags behind doing nothing


It only works great if u have bh, se, or stop or some type of slow....then it rapes HARDCORE

Yea but ive seen it once(was on other team) and just had it myself on naix.... If your chasing that hero astral will not hit them at all unless you have some type of slow

Hell i chased a slow ass cow with astral....didnt hit him once

Had it on TS second game(2 games ina row nice)....doesnt reach creeps but if u move up like a tad it works just fine.....astral only attacks where the swirling green mark is......if u run up and attack tree and run back and astral stays there for that 5 sec or so it attack incoming creeps until it warps back(killed as in mid like that....and i was back at my tower ahahaha)


Wish i could figure a way to post the replays of both games....ill take a screen shot if i get it again

K, that's a tooltip error.

Played a game last night, where the sniper summoned an aqua elemental for 1 second; it attacks once and then disappears again. Their team said it was his magnetic force. It happened throughout that game. It definitely didn't function like magnetic, or anything I had seen before. Bug i assume?

bug, mag dont work at all, it just spawn an aqua for 1 sec then disapears... 8/

 another thing, can u fix siphon strength so it does not hurt allies like in 3.7+ , i know it hurt allies since ae4 to 3.6 but they fixed it now with 3.7+, thx  :P

one other bug i found since dh1 its about drain life, it does not damage golem/giant growth hero or hero under anti magic shield, but it used to damage all 3 in regular dota  :(... so at least make it work properly or not being able to cast it at all on these, cuz losing 100 mana on naix( who doesnt ahve lots of mana) doing no damage is bs...

if i found other bug ill post, btw thx for the great work, was waiting for rift, etc for so long, make dh even better to play, we build a nice late-nite community  addicted DH player, and we really aprecite sumthing new, thx again!! more 12am to 6 am dh games for us!! 8*

Meh, Mag only works on Titan.  I just copied the trigger without thinking and it checks to see if the unit is Titan.

I'll fix this when I get back from lunch.

Those Siphon Strength changes aren't in any maps I made.  The Drain Life changes were from a patch to WC3, nothing any editor did.  I could make the spell triggered though, I already wrote a trigger to do it before.

Yes i read it the first time you posted but IT wont hit heros when your chasing them down without any type of slow. Only reason its uber on tank is because he just sits there and lets astral pwn people while he seiges(how often does tank kill people chasing a hero  8/ anyways). Also you have to move closer for most range heros for astral to hit creeps(tank gets way closer to creeps so it works)

When some1 i know gets on i will just 1v1 him and wait tilli  get astral on ms or naix and have him kill his lane and prodcuers so astral wont attack nothing else.......i got 5 bucks it wont hit him once while he runs away and i chase without any type of slow


But i dont care anyways like i said i know how it works now and is FN deadly in the right hands

Beta 3 is out with Spirit Lance tooltip fixed and Mag works for all heros.

Please delete the first two betas.

Without downloading so this may sound stupid.

You've added void, i don't see no double ups however. DOes this mean it's possible to see a team of 5 voids? If so, anything been done to tone it down a bit?

Also Danite, if you want I can give you some triggers for all the triggered spells. Makes them smoother and multi-instance. Written in JASS, requires no global variables, blah blah blah.

um yea i've encountered a huge problem. last night i was playing this map and it was fine. it was just like a normal game of some dota. however ever since this morning everytime i tried to play this map, the server would split at the beginning of the game. also, all the trees are replaced by checkered boxes which you are able to run through with your hero. it works whether im hosting or someone else is hosting also. can you fix this problem danite?

Got bloodmoon.  Nice addition to any melee character.  Games seem to be balanced more often than before, which i lilke.  I think my all time record with scourge on dh had me at a 1:5 losing ratio.  Good work danite.  You been playing lately?  Was in a game some guy with name danLte was hosting a 3.7  said he was the real danite.

i got astral and rift with ms one game so at night i would rift in the middle of a group of creeps/hero and sit in hide and astral would just poon away :{....oh dont try this if near heros with mass non-targeting aoe spells 8/....anyways its fun to watch try it with ms/vamp if u get astral

I was playing on the sentinels, and noticed that the Vamp, who had Astral Protection, can be seen when hidden. When he hides, the green animation of Astral Protection gives away his position at night.

Can this be fixed? Perhaps the only fix is removing the graphic from it? I assume this happens with any UD hero that has hide and astral.

...............wow did u not read the post i made right b4 yours...why should it be changed to where your couldnt see the graphic but yet u still get owned while in the area...its not a bug or anything that is just how it is..leave it be

tbh, i hated the first dh. very imbalanced when u get 3 ga's. ive been playing dh2 a lot, the one thing i notice is that ud has lots of summons. ofc thats to be expected when each move is passed out only once. but either way, i havent had a completely imba game yet, been playing it a week. good work on this one

in fact i didnt find a bug until really recently.
when you go -random on either side and someone picks the hero you where about to random in the short amount of time between typing it and getting a hero, you will end up with your shade in the place where the circle of power should be and you cant random again.
not much of a bug, just letting you know.

The suggestion): should not tank (sidereal engine?) have more armor? I suppose that the skills of the "artillery transformer" and +5 armor are not going to be never in DH, and 1 point armor hero is not even cannonfodder

definately possible, im saying it will be, depending on the hero, incredibly overpowered; or more useless than getting thorns vs an all ranged team.

What is 1 hero that wouldn't benefit from sweet-spotting towers? Due to the mana cost and loss of mobility I don't see it being any more overpowered than shadow meld for NE :)

Talron, write the .slk files for the siege mode ability that every hero will need a different version of, write the triggers to ensure that each hero only gets their version, and then you can worry about balance.

That's the easiest way to make siege mode work for every hero.

Wouldn't you have to change the minimum movement speed for that to work?

having void or ga doesnt make games imba, it makes them requre team work to win. a void is useless unless ur team does something about it
